You are invited to an open house to learn more about improvements Chelan County plans to make to Chiwawa Loop Road from the intersection with Wending Lane (milepost 3.15) to the intersection with Sumac Lane (milepost 4.65).  Chelan County is currently in the design phase, with construction  scheduled for the Spring 2017. 

Chelan County was awarded primary funding for this project through a grant from the County Road Administration Board’s (CRAB) Rural Arterial Program (RAP).  As a requirement of the funding, the roadway will need to be widened and minor safety and roadway geometrics improvements made.  Widening will be done throughout the entire section from an existing width of 22-26 feet to 30 feet.  Some curves will be realigned to provide safer driving conditions.  Improvement plans include an all-weather surface and re-establishment of roadside ditches along with utility relocations, minor intersection improvements and guardrail installation.  Driveways will be reconstructed using materials that match existing driveways.  Additional right-of-way will be required for the roadway widening and utility relocations.
